Navatec.com was founded by SEEL¹ and therefore benefits from a long accumulated experience in the development of online applications.

Work has included: the reconfiguration of a complete international consignment management system, based upon a mainframe, to a distributed system making use of PCs. Our staff were involved in the development of learning systems, survey and pattern recognition techniques used to automate crop inventory systems. Under the banner of Navatec.com we have developed online agricultural extension systems providing some 120 complex specialised online calculators and resource optimization procedures for farm planning. We build online systems which provide ongoing short term optimization decision analysis as well as medium term investment priority identification. We have developed sophisticated international fresh produce trading systems and agricultural traceability systems in compliance with current EU legislation.

We have built configurable bar code design systems which can be used to design specific applications and implement these to operational status online. This system can be used for setting up administrative document flow management operations, consignment management systems and processing systems in industrial and manufacturing environments.

Tools & technologies

Our expertise in service provision is based on expertise in server end scripting as well as from our management of an in-house server complex located in Seattle, Washington State, USA. This facility provides ongoing support for several online decision analysis applications services. Our server complex is used for the prototyping of innovative applications involving the constant development and evolution in server end techniques. We run the prototyping services for all of the applied R&D output of SEEL (Systems Engineering Economics Lab). We are lead designers undertake the pre-release evaluation of ST-Script library modules (DScripts) for a large range of vertical and horizontal sector applications. These have been produced in collaboration with SEEL. In October 2009 we completed over 2,000 scripts and modules for this Library thereby extending the 1,000 documented and undocumented DScript functions and primitives by a factor of two.

In January 2010 we were chosen to host and manage the online demonstrations of the Decision Analysis Initiative of The George Boole Foundation (London). This programme will run from 2010 through to 2015 and is an extension service designed to increase the rate of dissemination of practical information to all participants in the British economy and to accelerate the rate of take-up of innovative, productivity-enhancing online applications. For the development of online decision analysis systems we use DScript² which we consider to be the most powerful serverend ECMAScript implementation of JavaScript. ECMAScript is also an ISO standard.

SEEL was founded in 1983 with the specific objective of developing applications for global networks and has accompanied the development of the World Wide Web since its inception.
